FinCalc is run by one person, and I read everything that comes in.

There is no contact form here on purpose. A form means collecting and storing what you write on a server, and this site is built around not doing that. Email does the same job and leaves the record in your sent folder rather than only in mine.

Found a calculation error?

Please tell me — this is the most important message I can receive. A wrong number on a finance site is worse than no site at all. If you include the calculator name and the exact figures you entered, I can reproduce it immediately and publish a fix.

What makes a report easy to act on: the calculator, the numbers you typed, the result you got, and the result you expected. That last part matters more than it sounds — a good share of reported errors turn out to be a difference in what a figure includes rather than a mistake in the arithmetic. A mortgage payment here covers taxes, insurance, PMI and HOA, so it is deliberately larger than the principal-and-interest figure most calculators quote. If that is the gap, the answer is on the page rather than in the code, and telling me means I can make the page say it more plainly.

What I can't do

I can't give personal financial advice. I'm a software engineer & builder, not a licensed adviser, and answering "should I take this mortgage?" responsibly requires knowing your full situation and holding a licence in your country. For questions like that, a fee-only financial planner or a mortgage broker is the right person.

What I can do is explain how any calculation on this site works, fix errors, and build new tools.

Response times

Usually one to two working days. There is no phone line — email keeps a written record of what was asked and what was answered, which suits this kind of question better than a call. If a week passes with no reply, the message almost certainly went to spam rather than being ignored; send it again.
